So the saddle of my guitar started to pull away from its body. I fixed it using a marine epoxy and its doing quite well. A couple questions though, what glue is usually used? and how do You clamp down the saddle while the glue sets? Cheers

Re: Saddle Repair.....
Fri, December 29, 2006 - 5:20 PMthey usually use hide glue to glue the bridge down, because, if you need to repair it again in the future it can be removed with steam without damaging the top. once you use epoxy or superglue thats it, you can't go back, if the brige starts to lift again it is going to take a chunck of the soundboard with it. though this is of course a great way to squeeze more life out of a beater guitar. there is a special clamp that fits through the sound hole that they use to hold it. -

Sun, January 7, 2007 - 9:48 AMThanks for the info. That makes sense. The guitar I have is a $50 wonder guitar bought in Chang Mai, Thailand, so its great for doing my own work on and learning at the same time. Cheers. -
