How do you measure an accoustic guitar for a hard case? What else do I need to know before buying one?
My guitar came with a fabric soft case. With the upcoming traveling I will be doing I want to get a hard case for it. Having no local resources, so I have to buy online. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

I would probably just go into your local guitar center, or sam ash; see what size fits, and if they can't match the price you've found online, get the size info and order it online. -

Tue, July 31, 2007 - 6:37 PMum...yeah. should have read that more carefully.... i suppose you could call guitar center (or similar place), tell them your guitar make and model, get what size would fit and compare their price with shipping versus what you can find online.

Every place I have checked has measurements forthe cases, but dosen't tell how to measure the guitar. This is going to be crazy. I can tell already.

Wed, August 1, 2007 - 11:57 AMif the guitar you are talking about the one on your page, it looks like a dreadnought, and any case made for a dreadnought should fit it. Unless it is a different scale.
that is, i think the Taylor big baby is a 14/15 scale dreadnought. so a friend of mine has one, and got a dreadnought case, and just needs to put a towel under his guitar to give it a good fit.
what brand/model is your guitar? -

Thankyou! I have figured things out and have a hard case chosen. I'll get it ordered the end of the week when the cash comes. Gotta have that cash! LOL I will post a pic when it arrives. Thanks so much for everyone's input.
